Josh Cobb, a star player who won two T20 Blast finals, has retired from playing cricket. At 34, he will now coach young players at Warwickshire. Cobb, who played 448 games in his career, started at Leicestershire in 2007. He also played for Northamptonshire and Worcestershire and won the Bangladesh Premier League in 2013 with Dhaka Gladiators. He also led Welsh Fire in The Hundred.

Cobb was known for being a strong batter and bowler. He won his first match award in a T20 final in 2011, where he took four wickets. In 2016, he scored 80 runs off 48 balls to help Northamptonshire win another T20 title at Edgbaston, where he will now coach.

In 2023, Cobb worked as a coach with the Australian team for two weeks. This chance came through his old teammate, Andrew McDonald. Cobb now follows in his father’s footsteps, Russell, a coach at Loughborough University.

Looking back, Cobb shared how much he enjoyed his career, from scoring his first hundred at Lord’s to winning the T20 Blast twice. Now, he looks forward to helping young players grow and one day play for Warwickshire and England.
