FURIA Esports won 7-4 against Team Secret in a thrilling match at RE:L0:AD. It was FURIA's second time playing on Lair, their first since October 2024. The Six Invitational 2024 champions bounced back after a slow start. 

Team Secret took the lead early, thanks to great moves by Noah 'NoaUrz' Urwitz (1v1) and Adrian 'Adrian' Tryka (1v2). However, FURIA quickly took control, winning the last three rounds. One of those wins was a key 1v1 clutch by João 'Jv92' Vitor.

FURIA's Felipe 'FelipoX' Lucia was the best player of the match with a SiegeGG rating of 1.53 and a perfect KOST. He also boasts an average SiegeGG rating of 1.49. This win helped FURIA bounce back after losing to Six Invitational champions, FaZe Clan and Team BDS.

Close matches and key duels shape RE:L0:AD standings

On the other hand, Team BDS found their rhythm and won against CAG Osaka after a rough start at RE:L0:AD. They took a strong 5-round lead on Lair. They finished the match 7-2.

In another close match, SCARZ fought hard against Cloud9 but lost. Cloud9’s victory moved them to the top of the standings, reaching 14 bullets after using their Extended Mag Card. This also means SCARZ had to play a 1v1 Duel to stay in the competition. 

SCARZ’s Riku 'Rec' Katou won the duel against Cloud9’s Elian ‘Kobelax�?Rodríguez, keeping their hopes alive with a narrow win. Rec concluded the game with three bullets�?one more than they started with.

Ubisoft’s recent announcement about Siege X has stirred mixed emotions among esports fans and players. Some push that the update might deem the current meta obsolete, while others are excited about the upcoming changes. Here’s how this major update will affect the R6S esports scene. 

New game mode: 6v6 Dual Front

Siege X will introduce a fresh game mode called �?v6 Dual Front�? where players must secure three enemy sectors while defending their own. For the first time, players can choose any operator from both the Attackers and Defenders rosters. The new game mode will be a permanent addition to the game, but there are no clear announcements about adding it to current esports tournaments.

Movement upgrades

The Siege X update will also implement several movement upgrades, such as the rappel wall run. Engagements and breaches will be much faster due to the added element of surprise. This addition might give Attackers a better edge in gunfights.

While this may seem hard to counter, operators like Rauora, Kapkan, and Frost can prevent unexpected breaches. 

Map modernisation 

New environmental destructibles will also litter the newly modernised maps. Players can utilise certain world objects, such as bursting pipes, fire extinguishers, and many more, to create ambushes and distractions. 

Many maps, like the Clubhouse, Chalet, Border, Bank, and Kafe, will also receive a visual overhaul. Expect better shadows and 4K textures when the update goes live. Player detection using shadows, lighting changes, and electrical interference may be an old meta, but it will be more useful with the overhaul. 

Major audio enhancements

The Siege X update will also come with major audio enhancements that will help players locate enemies. With the improved sound propagation system, the players can now clearly hear if an enemy is walking in concrete, wood, grass, and more. 

A realistic sound reverberation feature will also be implemented so players can tell if the footsteps are made in confined spaces, indoors or outdoors, or if multiple enemies are approaching. 

If used properly, the audio boost might be the biggest factor to consider before engaging in gunfights. 

Excited about the Siege X update? 

Many additions in the game will affect the current esports scene since most of these changes lean towards adding more tactical elements to the game. Esports teams must re-study the maps to foresee possible ambushes with the new world objects. 

The movement and audio upgrades will surely affect the meta since agile operators can now move faster using the improved rappelling option. In contrast, detector-type operators like Pulse, Echo, and Jackal might affect their skills.

Cloud9 announced that it is leaving Counter-Strike 2 and is coming back into the Rainbow Six Siege esports scene. The North American team stated it has ‘no plans�?to return to Counter-Strike 2 for now. Cloud9 has had a team in Counter-Strike since 2014.

Over nine years, they won many tournaments, including being the only North American team to take a Major title (ELEAGUE Boston 2018). The team’s decision to step back from Counter-Strike 2 was made public on February 14, 2025, along with the exit of Konstantin ‘groove�?Pikiner and team manager Aleksandr ‘sweety10�?Scherbakov.

Cloud9's last match in Counter-Strike 2 was at the Perfect World Shanghai Major in late 2024. They lost to Team Liquid, PaiN, and Complexity in the Opening Stage and did not make it to the playoffs. Even though Cloud9 has a long history in Counter-Strike, their last big win was in 2023 at Relog Media’s Brazy Party. 

Rejoining Rainbow Six

Cloud9’s announcement of its return to Rainbow Six on February 15, 2025, makes it one of 20 teams in Ubisoft’s partner program. Teams in this program will earn profit from sales of pro-team bundles in the Rainbow Six store. 

Cloud9 was one of two teams revealed at the Six Invitational 2025 to join this program with Brazilian team LOUD, joining as the 20th and last team for the 2025 season. The group has not yet shared its team lineup for the 2025 season. 

The last time they played in Rainbow Six was at the 2021 Six Invitational, where they finished in the top sixteen. Cloud9's entry into Rainbow Six Siege adds another key North American team to Ubisoft’s tactical game. They join other teams like FaZe Clan, M80, and Spacestation Gaming, with FaZe representing Brazil.

Aside from their decision to leave Counter-Strike and rejoin Rainbow Six, Cloud9’s League of Legends team also has a new name for 2025. In partnership with Kia, a popular automobile company, the group will compete as Cloud9 KIA throughout the League of the Americas (LTA) season.
