Afghanistan’s first-class cricket season kicked off on May 5 in Nangarhar. Four regional teams compete for the title. 

Matches are happening at two stadiums in Jalalabad—Ghazi Amanullah Khan Cricket Stadium and Najib Tarakai Cricket Ground. On the first day, Hindukush Strikers faced Mahipar Stars, while Pamir Legends matched Maiwand Champions.

Each team has skilled players and strong leaders. Abdul Malik leads Pamir Legends, with Rahmat Shah and Qais Ahmad. The Hindukush Strikers team is led by captain Sediq Atal, joined by Hasmatullah Shahidi and Ikram Alikhil.

Mahipar Stars, led by Darwish Rasooli, include Riaz Hassan and Khalil Gurbaz. Meanwhile, Yamin Ahmadzai leads Maiwand Champions, with Bahir Shah Mehboob and Masood Gurbaz on board.

The Afghanistan Cricket Board says the tournament helps players grow and gives them a chance to join the national team. Many matches, including the final on June 22, will stream live. Fans across the country and abroad can follow these games.
