Young and Campher ruled out due to injury, Ireland sends in Doheny and Neill
Ireland’s cricket team has had bad news before their three-match ODI series against the West Indies. Two important players, Curtis Campher and Craig Young, will miss the games because of injuries.
Curtis Camphers, Ireland’s fast-bowling all-rounder, sustained a fractured finger during a net session on May 19. Meanwhile, fast bowler Craig Young suffered a hamstring injury when he played for the North West Warriors in a domestic match.
To fill the positions, Young will be replaced by Jordan Neill, while in place of Campher, the wicketkeeper-batter Stephen Doheny will play.
Ireland captain Paul Stirling is hopeful despite the setbacks. He said, ‘Yeah, look it's unfortunate that injuries happen in sport and I think you've got to look at the positive side of this that there's going to be a few new faces around.’
